Last Rites
Assembly Manual

Last Rites envisages the public trash can as an interface. It highlights the moment at which our individual ownership of trash is severed, questioning the cultural cleanliness of this schism. The “enhanced” trash can works by activating a motion sensor through a webcam when a person throws trash into the bin. It records the image of this person, archiving their image and running through its archive of waste-makers on an endless loop when disused.
